         Ali And The Chalu Store                                  ( Ali Baba's story in today's world)

This is the story of a common man but his story is not so ordinary. Ali and Kassim were two sons of a government servant .  Kassim being the lucky chap got hook with a wealthy father's wealthy girl. He married her and became ghar jamayi and started doing “aish” on his sasur's kamayi.

Ali not so lucky married with a school teacher and he himself got job in place of his father when he died. Fortunately his father left one small flat for them to live where Ali stays with his wife and mother. They were not rich but were happy. But they too want to have luxuries like LCD ,AC and Lappy.  But kaha jeene deti hai yeh mehangayi ? Aloo Pyaaz Tamatar me hi nikal jati hai saari kamayi!

Ali always prays to God please help me. Get me rid of these expenditures. I too want to become rich. HE even tried in KBC. But uski kaha kismat thi Dhoni si?

But as days don't remain same, his happy time also came. Once he was coming back from the office. He prefer walking rather than taking auto , but not health, saving money was his motto. Home being still away tired poor fellow sat somewhere to grasp his breathe. While wiping his sweat his eyes set on smaller than normal door. When he looked up it looks like storehouse to him. His curiosity overpowered his tiredness and he went to see it closely. There he saw there was no lock and he can't fathom how the owner opens it?

Then he saw some device with buttons and blinking light. He thought it must be a bell and he pressed it out of curiosity. Suddenly he heard some voice “Please speak the password my lord".  Ali being not so tech savvy got little frightened. But being the Hindi Movies fan only one thing came into his mind and sheepishly he spoke that " Khul Ja Sim Sim". To his surprise it opened. Still shaking he went inside.  Gosh!! The surprise he got outside was   nothing in front of what he got inside. When he entered door closed itself. He was shaking like anything. Oh but when he saw the place his eyes mesmerized. The place was full of aloo ,pyaaz and various other vegetables .Then he saw there were another two rooms. One was full of Basmati rice and best of best quality wheat, while another room was full of all pulses. He knows it cannot be a legal storehouse otherwise some board and security guard must be there. And they never keep such places in such crappy area. These things definitely must be kept for black market. He saw true copy of the device he saw outside. He again pressed the button and it asked for password and he repeated the same words. And it worked door opened once again. He got sigh of relief. But he is not stupid to leave this golden chance and hurriedly he filled his bag with vegetables, rice, wheat, pulses and whatever he can carry. When he came out of the door it closed again. He was never so happy in his life. After all for any Indian getting free ration is not less than attaining nirvana.  Fully energized running with full speed walked towards his home and asked his wife to make his favorite Aloo and pyaaz ke parathe and biryani. He passed on his bag full of ration to his wife and told her everything about that secret door , but asked her to keep quiet and not to tell anybody about it. 

With a wide smile Ali started humming the song " Dukh bhare din beete re bhaiya ab sukh aayo re"

Now Ali's ration problem got solved. Every week he goes to that secret store and collect handful of things but being the Sanskari Indian only took as much he can store or required. After all he knows that " Lalach is the buri bala". But this saving on ration did wonders for him. He bought whatever they can't afford before. LCD, AC, Laptop .His wife can spend more on her cosmetics. In fact their monthly savings were enough to pay Bank EMI for the new home they bought in a posh area.

As we all know we humans get more disturbed than other's prosperity than their problems. Kassim's wife came to know about Ali's new growth. She started pestering her husband to find out how come his poor brother's fortune turned overnight. Kassim getting coaxed by his wife's blabbering went to his brother and started asking him how he earned so much fortune. Ali initially didn't tell anything to Kassim but when he saw that Kassim will not leave easily he told him about that secret store.

Kassim got shocked when he heard about it. Even being so much rich he can't get rid of his greed. On the next day itself he went to that secret store in his car. He didn't wait for night too. He went in evening itself. As prescribed to him by his brother Ali he pressed the button on that electronic device and when it asked for password he murmured  " Khul Ja Sim Sim". His eyes got wide when he saw so many ration. He started filling the jute bags he got along with him full of onions, potato, rice,wheat, pulses. When his bags got filled he dragged the jute bags near that gate and pressed the button on that electronic device and when it asked for password he became numb. He forgot password. He tried everything” khul ja darwaja, open the door , abbe khul ja na , pleeeeease khul ja “. He started folding his hand in front of door but door being door entertained him no more.

Kassim got so worried and tensed that what will he do? And suddenly door opened and he got delighted that God came for his help. But these were not God but the demons. The black marketers came inside and got shocked when they saw Kassim there and then anger filled in their eyes when they saw the jute bags full of the ration. They started interrogating Kassim how he came to know about this place and the password.

Kassim being terrified told them everything and even about the Ali. He started pleading them to pardon him. He will not repeat the mistake. But they can't leave him and were even planning to catch Ali too.

But this was not the only surprise these demons were going to get this evening. To add to their shock the door opened again. In front of them was standing Ali . The black marketer starting abusing Ali but their mouth remained wide open. Ali was not alone this time. He got Police along with him this time. Police started raiding the store and arrested all of them including Kassim. But Ali asked inspector to leave him as he is his brother. Kassim bowed his head down in shame But Ali came to him and hugged him. Kassim started apologizing to Ali but Ali asked him to stop.

For his bravery and helping police in stopping black marketing and arresting these culprits , government gave him award and 1 year ration on subsidy. Ali was more than happy and decided he too was wrong in seeing his benefits and should have told about this secret store to police before only. Anyway,  better late than never.

After this incident both brothers’ family came closer. Kassim asked Ali to take voluntary retirement and both brothers together started a business and lived a prosperous life afterwards

 1. Corruption can only end if you stop ignoring it for your personal benefit.

 2. Your state's police can become more vigilant if and only if you act as their eye and report to them any miss deed happening in your area.
